Review: LOVE, DEATH, AND CHRISTMAS COOKIES by Ruby Blaylock

The annual Christmas Home Decoration contest was gearing up. Carly Keene was the photo journalist, taking pictures of all the decorated homes, except for the town Scrooge, who hated all holidays with equal passion. Then the old “witch” was found dead, wrapped in Christmas lights, on her neighbor’s lawn. It would seem that no one got along with the old, grouchy woman, so anybody could’ve done it.

I thought this would be an interesting mystery, but it just seemed less important compared to the girls mostly discussing Christmas dinner and their mothers possibly meeting their beaus. We don’t get into the cast right away, which is unfortunate, because this seemed like a really good one. It was more on the coffee and pastries, I think.

An okay read.

My rating: 3 stars
