This month's Book of the Month is Come Dance with Me by Steve Bates.
After thirty years on the police force, Detective Butch Jacs is retiring. One last case, a simple suicide, thrusts him back to his earliest days on the force, and reveals a mystery which he feels compelled to solve. A suicide from long ago seems connected to the current one by a cryptic business card reading: COME DANCE WITH ME. A woman from thirty years prior has reappeared, physically unchanged but with a different identity. As the case becomes stranger, an inner voice forces him to confront his past mistakes, and urges him to forget about the current case and move on. Unable to heed his own advice, he believes that if he can only solve this one last mystery, he may gain some form of redemption. When the ghosts of the past merge with the present, for a detective who doesn't believe in coincidence, or the supernatural, or anything else, the only answer may be that he's going mad.
