Review: HOTTER THAN THE CARIBBEAN by Stacy Hoff

Melanie thinks she’s landed a big break when an opportunity with a San Juan art dealer presents itself. To finally free the bold, creative artist inside her. All she had to do was finish a resort project for an egotistical jackass and she’d be home free.

Luis Serrano just wanted to build the best damn resort ever and continue his family’s prosperous legacy. He certainly didn’t expect a beauty like Mel to be working for him.  Nonetheless, he will prove his worthy to his wealthy and ailing father, even if that means competing against his own brother. Maybe then he’ll finally earn his father’s respect.

The two characters shared a ruthless drive for success, which can certainly heat up. And, of course, with that heat, that drive quickly sizzles into something much “hotter than the Caribbean.”
Story was pretty good, although lagging at times and somewhat generic. The characters definitely danced to a slow tango before reaching that final showdown of ecstasy.  This almost read like a Spanish soap opera—it had sex, rivalry, and loads of drama.

A pretty good book.

My rating: 3 stars
