THE LOVE EQUATION

GENRE: Contemporary Romance

BLURB:
They’re both unlucky in love. Can they find the equation for the
perfect mate?
Celine
Murphy has had it. Her current boyfriend has broken up with her by text. That
makes three boyfriends who’ve turned out to be losers, including one who left
for Antarctica. She’s decided to go for an online matchmaking service, but as a
mathematician, she wants to minimize her own faulty choices and let an
algorithm make the selection.
At the same
time, musician Delaney Boone has come to Austin to mentor “the kid,” a popular
actor turned musician. He’s also escaping a broken heart from a failed
relationship, and he’s hoping Austin will provide some new possibilities. With
those new possibilities in mind, he goes for an online dating service.
Fate—or
math—matches these two unlikely lovers. But can they overcome their own doubts
to accept another chance at romance? Maybe with the help of an unlikely cupid
in the form of Celine’s grandfather, The Judge, and the matchmaking skills of
some familiar faces in Konigsburg. And an unexpected dose of cedar fever. It’s
Texas y’all.

Excerpt Three:
She turned her gaze to the ceiling, where the
sunlight had begun to creep across. She hadn’t really expected Delaney to stay
over. At the same time, she hadn’t been upset when he had.
You need to think about this, about what it all
means.
She knew she did, but she didn’t really want to
think yet. Delaney was still a stranger, at least a bit. She didn’t even know
where he was from before Nashville. Where had he gone to school?
Come off it, Celine. Worrying about what college
he’d gone to after they’d had a bedroom marathon was ridiculous. Delaney had
obviously spent a lot of time learning his craft, and given his profession,
that was probably more important than four years in some music school
somewhere.
But she still had the feeling he knew more about
her than she did about him, and it made her a little uneasy. Was there a reason
he was keeping his life story to himself?
“Good morning,” Delaney said, and she jumped,
turning to look at him.
“Oh, hi.” She took a breath. “How are you?”
“Me?” His eyes widened slightly. “I’m fine.
You?”
“I’m fine.”
She reached out to brush back the hair that had fallen across his
forehead.
He gave her a slightly crooked smile. “I may
want to use your shower.”
“Sure,” she said automatically. “Whatever you
want. I can make some coffee.” She tried to remember what she had for
breakfast. Except it was more like brunch.
Brunch!
“Oh, God,” she said. “It’s Sunday, isn’t it?”
He nodded, now more wary than amused. “Yeah.”
“I’m supposed to have brunch with the judge,”
she blurted.
Delaney stared at her for a long moment. “Is
that court ordered? And if so, what did you do to get that sentence?”

Review: Celine, the mathematician, would find The One by rejecting the first 37% of her matches on a dating site and choosing the one right after it. It was all math, right? Who could go wrong with a love equation like that?
The Love Equation equaled to a musician named Delaney Boone. A mathematician and a musician. Mmm.
Celine was pretty much like a character right out of “The Big Bang Theory”—intelligent, quirky, and unique. Who would’ve thought that the musician would opt for a non-traditional activity such as bat watching? Actually, I’d want to go check out the bats, too.
Even though Celine didn’t really thing Delaney was The One, he did make her mind work and his physical attractiveness wasn’t bad either. Just like the gang on “The Big Bang Theory,” you can’t help but like these oddball characters. What I liked best was that they had a love of the minds. The math and the music lover actually had good conversation and things in common. Celine and Delaney had good chemistry—mentally and physically. You root for these characters all the way.
As they were both clearly falling for each other, Celine and Delaney each ponder and scrutinize the concept of love. What did it mean? How do you know when you find it? These characters eventually had to stop thinking and just feel what was in their hearts.
Witty, smart, and fun! A sweet and unconventional love story.
