Review: A STRANGER IS WATCHING by Mary Higgins Clark

The slow and descriptive start at the beginning adds a little suspense.

Sharon Martin was a columnist who believed in outlawing corporal punishment, especially with the upcoming execution of a young prisoner named Ronald Thompson. Of course, there were others who believed the guy should fry for killing a man’s wife, like the husband. Steve and Sharon had opposite views on this matter, but they were also in love.

“Was this the time to get involved in marriage—marriage to a man whose child resented her?”

That night, Sharon decided to break things off with Steve, but then she and the boy were kidnapped by an intruder.

A kidnapper’s ransom and a prisoner’s imminent execution.

The stranger that took Sharon and Neil was the same man that killed the young mother—the one Ronald Thomson was being executed for. But who was the stranger?

Can they get to the boy and Sharon before it all comes to an explosive end?

A compelling mystery full of suspense!
