It’s a silly game hosted by a substitute teacher, an exercise in exploring the workings of the teenage mind. Review: Would you rather be an amazing artist or a brilliant mathematician? Would you rather be hairy or bald? Would you rather have the perfect spouse or the perfect job? Sounded like a fun enough game, right?

But then it gets weird.

Would you rather accidentally kill someone or be kidnapped by a serial killer? Yikes!

What was with the substitute teacher and this weird game?

But this all fun and games, right? It wasn’t real. But what if they did turn out to be real?

One by one, the scenarios start coming true for the kids. One becomes a great artist. One got the perfect job as a video game tester. One won $1000 in the lottery. But what’s going to happen to the ones that got the bad scenarios? Would they really die?

It was certainly interesting to get the various scenarios that these kids got and had to choose from. I enjoyed the different character stories and how everyone was freaking out over their fates, especially when one of them actually gets kidnapped by the serial killer. Would the other fates come true as well? How can they stop them? Or can they even stop them? How many more will die before it all comes to an end?

A gripping-good read! A thrilling ghost story! I look forward to another one by this author.
