Fired by a chauvinistic boss. Well, that was kind of bad and good. Regardless, Presley, who had a weakness for shoes and would rather not eat than go without her shoes, needed to find another job. She always wanted to write, so maybe she could take over the human interest position at her friend’s magazine. Her assignment was to write a piece on a political figure.
Although the narrative was witty
and clever in that sassy diary prose, it was also too long and slow, especially
at the beginning. Sometimes it seemed that she yammered on and on. I couldn’t
really get past all the inane, bubble-brain monologues to make it to the murder
mystery.
The read was okay, I’d say, but
definitely not my kind of read.
