Review: REAL FRIENDS by Shannon Hale and Leuyen Pham

Shannon wanted Mom all to herself, but then she started school, where she met Adrienne, her best friend. By 2nd grade, Adrienne moved. By 3rd grade, she was back. One good friend was all anyone needs, but Shannon wasn’t her only friend. Once she started hanging out with the new clique, Shannon felt left out. Soon she knows what mean girls were all about.

Nice illustrations! I loved Shannon’s wild imagination about girls kicking a#s. I also liked how she referenced her big sis as scary as a bear. Too funny!

A good story about friendships and how school is really like.

My rating: 4 stars
