Review: STRUCK by Amanda Carlson

Phoebe Meadows was struck by lightning, which suddenly and inexplicably fills her with profound energy. Of course, you can just chalk this up to a freak accident. But Phoebe then learns her true origins—that she’s the daughter of a god and some sort of Valkarie I guess. This then quickly turns into a mad escape from the Norns (???). Apparently, these are some kind of witches. So she gets help from a raven and a gladiator woman.

Phoebe is an witty oddball of quirkiness and it seemed like I would enjoy her story. However, I thought the story could’ve been simpler. I mean, Elves and Ettins? What the heck?
