Spotlight: THE MRS. BUTTERWICK MYSTERIES by E.A. Bernard

Welcome to Willington, where the tea is always brewing, the gossip travels faster than the post, and a 175lb Great Dane is convinced everyone has come to see him. (They probably have.)

Mrs Elaine Butterwick runs the village shop and post office with her husband Kenny, who sees a conspiracy in everything, and Bertram, a gentle, dignified Great Dane with a passion for handbags and an undying love for the young vicar. Elaine is quiet, kind and a great deal sharper than she lets on. When something goes missing in Willington, she is usually the first to notice, and the last to say so.

Four cosy mysteries, one for each month from harvest to Holly

SEPTEMBER – Something's Missing and Missed
A treasured engagement ring vanishes from a widower's writing bureau, and village suspicion lands on all the wrong people. Meanwhile, Elaine's oldest friend Irene has suddenly taken to lilac, lipstick and a new hairdo…

OCTOBER – Harvest Gold
The village's precious gold chalice disappears during Harvest Festival week. Kenny suspects the Illuminati. Elaine suspects something much closer to home. And the harvest display has no idea what Bertram has planned for it.

NOVEMBER – A Bonfire and a Missing Guy
The Reverend Guy Chambers pops in for a packet of Polos and isn't seen again for the best part of a week. While the village carries on regardless, their vicar, who looks about twelve, is having the most unexpected week of his life somewhere between a school bus and a rugby team on tour. Can Elaine and Irene bring him home in time for Remembrance Sunday?

DECEMBER – Once Upon a Crime
It's panto week. Kenny is Puss in Boots (with man flu), the vicar is the Dame (and loving the make-up), and while the whole village watches Bertram refuse to leave the stage, someone is letting themselves into their homes. With Irene's Christmas Eve party fast approaching, Elaine must unmask a thief before the final curtain. Oh yes she must.

Along the way you'll meet a self-proclaimed witch in sequinned trainers, a pub landlord who is still getting the band back together, a parish organiser who is always on her first glass, and a handyman who appears from nowhere.

Warm, gently funny and full of characters you'll want to share a pot of tea with, The Mrs Butterwick Mysteries are perfect for fans of cosy crime, English village life and good old-fashioned British humour. Printed in large print for comfortable reading.

Pop the kettle on, find a biscuit, and hide your handbag. Bertram is on his way.
