Fictional Worlds I’d Rather Not Visit
Fictional worlds I'd rather not visit would include those involving a serial killer or monsters. It would be cool to live in a genie world, but I guess that could be pretty scary too with that whole "Be Careful What You Wish For" thing.
Ooh... I'm not so sure about genies. Have you seen Wishmaster? That really is a case of careful what you wish for.
ReplyDeleteThose genies were tricky beasts, always trying to teach people lessons.
ReplyDeleteThe only fictional world with monsters that sounds fun would be Piers Anthony's Xanth, where some of the monsters might eat you but all of them can be persuaded not to eat you if you think logically about the situation. Just bribe someone with a magic talent for talking to that kind of monster, if it's not humanoid enough to speak English, to travel with you and you could go anywhere.
A lot of people like fictional worlds with serial killers who always use the same method and are relatively easy to catch. A few, like Dorothy Sayers, remember that that's still hard on the victims.
