Review: THE ISLAND by Natasha Preston

“Only 6 of us have been invited. Six influencers. An exclusive weekend at a new island resort. An amusement part so remote that you can only reach it by boat.”

Everything on the island—the hotel and the amusement part—has that gothic horror theme. The story kicks off to a rather slow start with touring the hotel and the main characters describing it. There was too much touring and just walking around the creepy place. Was something going to happen soon? I was intrigued by the premise, but I wasn’t impressed by how it was going. It takes almost 10 chapters before somebody vanishes, and I guess that’s where it gets going—10 chapters later.

The read was pretty mild. It definitely wasn’t what I thought it be.
