BLURB:

In Montmartre, the bohemian heart of Paris, Ella meets an intriguing artist who sketches portraits on the trendy Place du Tertre and dances flamenco at the local tablao. As Jean-Luc introduces her to the secret delights of the City of Light, Ella becomes his Muse, the passion they share inspiring and igniting his art and his dance.

When he melts her frozen heart, she decides to remain in Paris and live with him, sharing his atelier as she designs and creates chic couture.

But a beautiful, beguiling curator invites Jean-Luc to display his paintings as the featured artist in the upcoming L’Art de la Danse exhibit, and the lure of international fame threatens his future with Ella.

Will jealousy and greed extinguish their passion, or will the flames of flamenco endure?

Excerpt One:

And now, here she was. In Paris, the City of Light.  La Ville Lumière

With a deep intake of breath, she clutched the teal leather purse where her stamped passport was tucked safely inside its zippered pouch. And plunged headfirst into the adventurous, welcoming night.

As she wandered among the tourists, watching profiles emerge on canvas, deciding who she would choose to sketch her portrait as a souvenir for this most memorable summer, one artist caught her eye.

And took her breath away.

Thick, glossy, black hair cascaded down his back. Sinuous tattoos snaked up either side of his muscular neck, slithering from beneath the snug black tee-shirt molded to the sculpted biceps of his long, athletic arms.  A mustache and several days’ worth of dark stubble joined the trim beard which outlined his chiseled jawline and clefted chin.

A ripple of desire shivered up Ella’s spine.

He must have sensed her watching him, for he looked up from his work to gaze across la Place du Tertre.

Their eyes met, and Ella was transfixed.

An irresistible aura of mystery and passion exuded from his every pore. He flashed her a glorious, dazzling grin.

Her knees nearly buckled from the blinding impact.

Stunned—for she was unused to male attention, let alone captivating charm—it took a moment before she smiled back. I want him to sketch me. And melt me with that scorching smile.

Review: French teacher Ella was studying abroad in Paris. When touring the city, she meets a handsome street artist. They find a connection through the art of flamenco. And then they begin their dance.

The narrative was rich and descriptive of the French scenery and culture, but it can be too long and slow. The physical intimacy was sweet and sexy. This was a fairly nice summer romance read. Even though this was quick read in the form of a novella (about 10 chapters total,) the read still felt incredibly slow to me. This is a good story if, first and foremost, you like the French culture and, second, you like a romance.
