Review: THE WRITER by DW Ulsterman

An eager college journalist was about to have a one-on-one with her favorite author. Some wondered if Adele would solve the mystery of the writer what with the mysterious death of his wife. The first question she unwittingly asked was: Did you kill your wife? He answered, “yes.” What!? I thought this would lead to juicy stuff. Instead, we lead off with a stale interview of questions and long pauses.

The narrative describes the waterfront scenery well. However, a story does take a while to formulate here. I thought we would eventually get into the wife’s mysterious death, which I’d hoped would be murder. It just didn’t seem that way. The writing was much more literary than mysterious. It just felt like nothing was happening here. This is where I don’t continue the series.

Decent read, but hardly no story.
