Review: SWEET MURDER by Tegan Maher

Noelle was a witch that survived a horrific car crash. Turns out that somebody had cut her brakes. That’s all she needs. She’s broke, struggling to pay bills and taking charge of her hot-head teenage sister. What more can happen?

After a while, the shady, perverted sheriff drops dead at the town barbecue. Everybody hated the sherrif and was glad he was dead. What was weird about his death? What’s the big deal anyway?

Story was a little too descriptive. It almost seemed like two mysteries in one—figuring out who killed the sheriff and figuring out who cut Noelle’s brakes. I wasn’t too keen on the Southern dialogue either. The reading was pretty good, but it can get long-winded at times. Noelle rattles on about other mindless things, not really focusing so much on the case, which is not too clear.

My rating: 3 stars
