Obviously,
the best part is when she is suspected of murdering her ex-boyfriend because of
the poisoned cupcakes. But the Ladies Detective Club? So a bunch of old ladies rotting
away in a retirement home is going to solve this crime? Doubtful.
Overall, the
story was anticlimactic, but, on the plus side, it is a light and airy read.
And isin’t that how cupcakes should be?
It’s a quick,
little mystery—good to kill an hour or two—but it doesn’t make me want to
follow the series.
