A killer wanting to complete his trio of murders and he had the perfect last victim—Emily Graham, an attorney that recently suffered at the hands of a stalker. Now, she’s being stalked again.
On a whim, Emily buys an old house that was owned by an ancestor in the 1890’s—one who mysteriously vanished without a trace. Two skeletal remains are found on the property. One of which was the body of a woman that disappeared 4 years ago and the other was her ancestor. Was there a link between the two deaths? Emily figured that if you solve one murder, you solve the others. Was there a possibility of a killer from a hundred years ago being reincarnated today, which would explain the murders being so similar? Or was it a copycat killer?
So I guess we had two serial cases
to solve here—one from a hundred years ago and one from right now. Interesting.
Evidently the whole town was buried with secrets and old bones. If the pattern continued based on the string of murders—old and new—another murder will happen on Mar 31st. Can they stop the killer before then?
This was another good read of MHC.
At times, it was a little hard to recall who was who—past and present—and the
ending was a little too cut-and-dry. But, for the most part, this was a
compelling mystery.
