Christina Sooritorrivat was
entering the 7th grade and she wasn’t quite fitting in. Well, to be
honest, she never fit in. When the other girls were flashing their sports bras,
she was still wearing T-shirts over her flat chest. Sigh! She had to deal with
so many racial remarks and stereotypes that she was dubbed “Rice Girl.” Good
thing Christina had her friend beside her.
To help fit in, she and Christina
decide to tryout for cheerleading. Christina wasn’t that bad, but then her
friend ended up being better. Tension results when Megan chooses someone else
to be her tryout partner. Oh boy.
A wonderful story that says it’s
okay to be different. All you need is to put your game face on. After all,
every ending has a beginning. A nice read!
