A man that loves to read? Yeah, that be my type, too!
When Melody found one reading a
romance—Price and Prejudice—be still her heart! Then, he started to talk,
shattering the warm and fuzzy illusion. She gets into a heated debate with him
over the literary work unaware that he was a famous author. When she shows up
at his family home, another debate ensues with there being a “fine line between
preserving history and playing Regency Barbie.” Love that witty commentary!
Now, the two were bunkmates. Even
though he was infuriating, there was something about Cooper that intrigued
Melody. He loved his books, his brother, and his dog. I loved the snappy spar
between them.
In rummaging through his dead
mother’s old things, they stumble upon a mystery in his family. Who was the guy
that looked so much like Cooper? The mystery about his mother was certainly
interesting although I kind of already figured what the deal was with the man.
This was an enjoyable read for the
most part, but it does get a little too soft and sappy for my taste and becomes
too daunting.
A fairly nice read, but just not
the best.
